 Dynamic Island Rig

New Dynamic Island Calls for Fresh Ads!

With the introduction of the new dynamic island, there is a need for a bunch of new marketing content for the website. The tricky part is creating a perfect template for each medium that will be translated and produced in multiple different language editions. But we'll get to that later!

Squircle (Green) vs. Rounded Rectangle (Red)
Spot the Difference

Squircles! The humble curve in a shape might seem insignificant, but in the world of design, the subtle distinction between a squircle and a rounded rectangle can pack a surprising punch. Looking under the microscope, we can notice the difference, and this difference is not acceptable for a company the size of Apple.

While there is no easy way to create Apple-like squircles in Adobe Software, and with a deadline around the corner, we have to resort to trickery. Properly separating the squircular rectangle of the extended version of Dynamic Island and correctly extrapolating the vertices to its intermediate and shrunk versions would do the trick.
Smooth Workflow with Templates and Rigs

Now, back to multiple ad content items—usually, it's hundreds of different media files, and a proper template is necessary to keep the workflow going! And the aforementioned rigs are the way to go to save a lot of time on production.

After spending some time post-launch, researching some math formulas, we can get Dynamic Rig v2 with a smaller version accompanying it.
